Errors get fixed in the open, updates get dated, and a verdict never quietly flips. This page is the paper trail policy behind every KEPT and CUT.
Two kinds of changes
We got it wrong
Fixes something that was wrong when we published it: a misstated spec, a wrong price, a claim a source does not support. A material correction gets fixed in the text and flagged with a dated note on the page, so the record stays visible. Trivial fixes like typos are made without a note.
The world changed
Reflects what happened after publication: a reformulation, a discontinued model, a price move big enough to change the answer. Updates change the “Last updated” date, and every evaluative page states when its prices and claims were last checked.
How a fix works
Someone spots it
A reader, a source, or our own re-review flags a possible error. Every report is read. Reader reports go straight to the editor of record, not a ticket queue.
We verify and fix promptly
The claim is checked against sources: manufacturer specs, labels, owner reports. If it is wrong, the text is corrected right away. If it is right, we reply and explain why it stands.
The record stays visible
Material corrections carry a dated note on the page, and the freshness stamp updates. Silent edits are how review sites lose the plot. Ours are on the record.
When a verdict changes
KEPTCUT
If a KEPT becomes a CUT, or the reverse, the page says what changed, when, and why. The old verdict is not scrubbed from history. The reasoning that replaced it is shown, per our methodology and editorial standards.
