Independence
- No brand, retailer, or affiliate partner can buy a KEPT, remove a CUT, or see a verdict before it publishes.
- Affiliate commissions never influence which products we cover, how we rank them, or what we say about them. Commercial relationships are disclosed on every monetized page and in full in our affiliate & AI disclosure.
- We don’t accept free products, sponsored placements, or payment for coverage of any kind.
What every evaluative page must contain
- A clear verdict KEPT or CUT stated above the fold, per our methodology.
- At least one genuine drawback for every recommended product. A page with no cons doesn’t publish.
- Who each pick is not for, stated as plainly as who it is for.
- A visible “What we cut and why” section. Rejections are part of the product, not an internal note.
- Dated prices and dated claims, so you know when a fact was checked.
Sourcing
Claims on KeptList trace back to something checkable: manufacturer specifications, labeled ingredients, long-term owner reports across multiple retailers, expert and industry sources, and public guidance. We don’t invent statistics, test results, or experiences. If an article states first-hand use, a human actually did it and the article says exactly what was done; otherwise the article says its basis is research and comparison. For health-adjacent categories supplements, sleep, skincare, anything medical we stay within published guidance, avoid medical claims, and tell you when a question belongs to your doctor, not a review site.
How KeptList is made: AI-assisted, human-edited
We’re transparent about our workflow because you can’t judge honesty you can’t see. Here’s the actual division of labor on every page:
- Gathering and organizing research at scale
- Drafting first-pass text and comparison tables
- Normalizing specs across brands
- Verifying claims against sources
- Checking prices, specs, and availability
- Approving or rejecting every KEPT/CUT verdict
- Final sign-off nothing publishes without it
The editor who approved a page is accountable for it. No exceptions.
Bylines
KeptList articles are credited to the KeptList editorial team and carry the name of our editor of record, who reviews and approves every page. We do not publish under fictional author personas, invented credentials, or stock-photo staff. If a name appears on this site, it belongs to a real person who did the work attributed to them.
Corrections and updates
Factual errors get fixed promptly and, when material, flagged with a note on the page. Verdict changes are explained, never silently swapped. Prices, availability, and recommendations are re-checked on the cadence described in our methodology. To report an error, send us the page link reader reports go straight to the editor of record, and material corrections are flagged with a dated note on the page.
